Bids start on the 5th of every month and need to be turned in by the 15th of the month. The Local Chairman will have winning bids posted by the 20th of each month.  The winning bids will have until the 27th of the month to put the request into the computer. Failure to put the winning bid in will go to a first-come-first-served basis on the 28th of the month. For the months of January, February, March, April the winning bids can't be entered until January 1st and will go through the 10th, after the 10th it's a first-come-first-served.

Per paragraph 5 item C, at the discretion of the Local Chairman an employee who fails to "Activate" the approved day MAY no longer be permitted to participate for the current vacation year

Examples of ways to get kicked out of the pre-arranged approvals

Example 1:  A pool freight engineer has a pre-arranged day approved for Friday and his turn gets in Thursday night and will have the next 3 days off. The engineer doesn't activate the pre-arranged day because he has the days off. If you have the pre- arranged day you must use it.

Example 2:  The month is February and you are only allowed to bid for the month of June.  The month of July is green, and you decide to bid the 4th of July off in February, which is more than 120 days.
